Welcome to RAW Adventures

Based in Eryri (Snowdonia), North Wales, RAW Adventures is owned and operated by Kate and Ross Worthington with support from a close-knit operations team. Working with small and large-scale groups of all ages and abilities, we operate outdoor adventures with qualified and trusted Mountain Leaders and instructors.

This includes our popular Climb Snowdon days as well as supporting the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, bespoke charity and adventure challenge events. We also provide Mountain Training Skills and Leader Qualification courses.

We love to plan bespoke adventures, as well as offering more well-known routes and summit days. Our office base is in Llanberis, underneath the shadow of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). It is a hub of activity and always open for a coffee and chat...

Intro to Winter Mountain Skills

If you’re brand new to winter mountain walking, our Introduction to Winter Skills course is for you. Over two days, you’ll learn the essential skills and techniques to navigate and move safely through snow and ice, opening up a whole new world of year-round walking in beautiful winter landscapes.

Winter Munro Mountain Skills

If you already have experience hiking in winter mountain conditions, Winter Munro Mountain Skills will help you take it to the next level. Over three days, you’ll develop the skills and techniques to be a fully-fledged, independent mountaineer, including advanced use of ice axes and crampons and route planning for solo walking.

Intro to Winter Climbing

Designed for scramblers, climbers and experienced mountain walkers looking to take their adventures to new and snowy heights. Introduction to Winter Climbing will give you all the skills needed to climb winter routes, including ice-axe, crampon and rope use, as well as basic snow anchors and belays.

We operate popular Climb Snowdon days, guiding on Welsh 3000s challenges and bespoke mountain adventures in Eryri. RAW also supports all aspects of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition section and Gold Award Duke of Edinburgh Residential weeks, for young people.

We are a respected provider of Mountain Training nationally recognised qualifications and skills courses: Lowland Leader, Hill and Moorland Leader, Hill Skills, Mountain Skills and Rock Skills. We also offer further mountain skills and winter experiences in Scotland – Winter Mountain Skills.
